Two Layers. One Integrated Panel.

WELTISO is a two-layer sandwich panel comprising a mineral-bonded wood wool facing and a stone wool layer, joined in the factory using a special-formula adhesive described by the manufacturer as non-flammable.

The open-textured wood wool facing contributes to sound absorption, helping control reflected sound and reverberation. The stone wool layer contributes to thermal insulation and the acoustic performance of the construction.

Supplied as one composite board, WELTISO can be engineered and cut to project requirements. Panel selection considers layer thicknesses, density, dimensions, finish, supporting construction and installation details.

Designed for Demanding Architectural Applications

WELTISO is developed for use in hotels, hospitals, offices, residential developments, educational facilities, industrial buildings, data centres, studios and cinemas.

Depending on the specified construction, applications may include wall linings, ceilings, partitions and enclosures requiring coordinated acoustic, thermal and fire performance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Product and Manufacturing

What is WELTISO?

WELTISO is a factory-bonded composite panel combining mineral-bonded wood wool with stone wool. It is developed for architectural applications requiring acoustic treatment, thermal insulation and fire performance appropriate to the specified construction.

Who manufactures WELTISO?

WELTISO is a Sagist Group brand manufactured in Istanbul, Türkiye. Sagist Group provides manufacturing, engineering, international logistics and project installation services.

What materials make up a WELTISO panel?

The panel consists of a mineral-bonded wood wool layer and a dense stone wool layer, joined with a special-formula adhesive described by the manufacturer as non-flammable. These components form one composite board.

What is the purpose of the wood wool layer?

The mineral-bonded wood wool provides an open-textured surface intended to support sound absorption. It also forms the panel’s durable facing. Its contribution depends on the layer thickness, finish and installation arrangement.

What is the purpose of the stone wool layer?

The stone wool layer contributes to thermal insulation and acoustic performance. Its contribution to fire performance must be established for the complete product or assembly, including the facing, adhesive, joints and fixings.

Is WELTISO supplied as separate layers?

WELTISO is supplied as a factory-bonded board. The two principal layers are joined before delivery, reducing the need to assemble them separately on site.

Is the published density of 150 kg/m³ the density of the complete panel?

The product anatomy section associates 150 kg/m³ with the stone wool layer. For specification, request separate nominal densities for each layer and the mass per square metre of the complete panel.

Fire Performance

What fire resistance does WELTISO advertise?

The website advertises 120 minutes of fire resistance. For project approval, this value must be linked to a test and classification report identifying the tested construction, panel dimensions, thickness, joints, supports, fixings and direction of exposure.

Does 120 minutes automatically mean EI 120?

No. A duration alone does not identify which performance criteria were achieved. The classification report must establish whether the assembly meets integrity, insulation or other applicable criteria for that duration.

What is the difference between reaction to fire and fire resistance?

Reaction to fire describes how a product contributes to a developing fire. Fire resistance describes how a building element maintains specified functions during fire exposure. They are separate properties and require separate supporting documentation.

Can a ceiling fire test establish performance for every wall and shaft application?

No. Test results have a defined field of application. A ceiling test does not automatically establish a wall or shaft classification. The proposed construction must fall within the supporting report’s permitted scope.

Does WELTISO provide the same protection from both sides?

The website describes protection from either side. For specification, confirm that the test or classification documentation covers the intended exposure direction. A panel with different layers on each face should not be assumed to perform identically in both directions.

What does the advertised 1,350 °C thermal threshold mean?

The website publishes a thermal threshold of 1,350 °C. Its technical meaning must be established through a defined test method, exposure duration and acceptance criterion. It should not be interpreted as a continuous service temperature or a guarantee that the complete panel remains functional at that temperature.

Is WELTISO a complete fire compartment system?

A panel is one component of a fire compartment. Overall performance also depends on supporting construction, perimeter seals, joints, doors, service penetrations and installation quality. These elements must be specified together.

Acoustic Performance

Does WELTISO absorb sound or reduce sound transmission?

The product is intended to contribute to both acoustic treatment and sound insulation. Absorption controls reflected sound within a room, while sound insulation reduces transmission between spaces.

How can WELTISO help control echo?

Its open-textured wood wool facing is intended to absorb part of the incident sound energy. The resulting improvement depends on the exposed panel area, frequency, thickness, backing arrangement and room geometry.

What does the website’s 90 dB figure represent?

The website describes 90 dB as sound transmission loss. Before using this value in a specification, request the acoustic report identifying the measurement method, frequency range, tested assembly and whether the figure is a single-frequency result or a weighted rating.

Will installing WELTISO reduce room noise by 90 dB?

A published transmission-loss figure cannot be treated as a guaranteed reduction in room noise. Actual performance depends on the complete construction, doors, glazing, ventilation openings, joints and sound travelling through adjacent elements.

What acoustic information should an architect request?

For sound insulation, request the tested assembly and its weighted rating, including relevant spectrum adaptation terms. For sound absorption, request frequency-dependent absorption data and the applicable absorption rating. Confirm that the proposed finish and mounting match the tested arrangement.

Is WELTISO suitable for studios, cinemas and meeting rooms?

These are among the applications identified on the website. Selection should follow the project’s acoustic design, considering reverberation targets, room separation, low-frequency noise, ventilation and the amount of exposed absorptive surface.

Thermal Performance

How does WELTISO contribute to thermal insulation?

The stone wool layer limits heat transfer through the panel. Its contribution depends on thermal conductivity, thickness, moisture conditions and the way the panel is incorporated into the building assembly.

Where can I obtain thermal conductivity and resistance values?

Request the current technical datasheet for the selected product variant. The specification should identify the applicable thermal conductivity and thermal resistance, together with the relevant test or declaration basis.

Can WELTISO reduce heating and cooling demand?

It can contribute to improved thermal performance when properly specified and installed. Project energy savings require an assessment of the complete building envelope, climate, thermal bridges, airtightness and building services.

Is the 1,350 °C figure a measure of thermal insulation efficiency?

No. A high-temperature exposure claim does not describe ordinary heat-loss performance. Thermal conductivity, thermal resistance and the U-value of the complete assembly are the relevant specification information.

Dimensions, Finishes and Installation

What panel thickness should I choose?

Thickness should be selected according to the required acoustic, thermal and fire performance, available construction depth and supporting structure. Request a proposal identifying the thickness of each layer and the overall panel thickness.

What panel dimensions and thicknesses are available?

WELTISO offers project-specific engineering and cut-to-size production. Request the current product schedule to confirm available dimensions, thicknesses, densities, tolerances and handling limits.

Can panels be supplied cut to size?

Yes. The website describes production to project drawings using robotic and CNC systems. Approved drawings should identify dimensions, orientation, openings, edge details and panel references before manufacture.

Can the surface be painted or plastered?

The website describes painted, plastered and exposed finishes. Any coating or finish must be approved for the intended performance. Covering the open surface can change acoustic absorption, while finishes can also affect reaction to fire.

How are WELTISO panels fixed?

Fixing details should be provided for the selected substrate and application. The installation design should identify fastener type, spacing, edge distances, support requirements, joints and perimeter treatment.

Can WELTISO support heavy equipment or furniture?

Heavy items require a designed load path into suitable structural supports or tested anchors. Request declared fixing capacities wherever panel-mounted loads are proposed.

Can WELTISO be used outdoors or in wet areas?

The website describes the material as moisture-tolerant and refers to protected façades. Confirm environmental exposure limits and required protective construction before specifying it for exterior or wet-area applications. Moisture tolerance does not establish suitability for permanent rain exposure or immersion.

Can WELTISO be used as a loadbearing panel?

Structural loadbearing capacity is not established by the published product information. Structural loads require an appropriately designed supporting system, and the panel must be used within its documented scope.

Applications and Technical Documents

Where can WELTISO be used?

The website identifies hotels, hospitals, data centres, factories, warehouses, residential towers, offices, schools, stadiums, studios and cinemas. Suitability must be confirmed for the specific wall, ceiling or enclosure construction.

What documentation should accompany a project submission?

Request the current product datasheet, installation instructions, product identification, relevant test and classification reports, and applicable conformity documentation. These documents should identify the proposed panel variant and intended use.

What certification information is referenced for WELTISO?

The website references Certificate No. IDS.CE.2026.20434 and mentions CE, EAC and SGS documentation. Request the complete current documents and confirm their product scope, issuer, report references and relationship to the proposed configuration.

Do different thicknesses, densities and finishes have identical performance?

No universal equivalence should be assumed. Changes to layer thickness, density, adhesive, facing, finish or installation can affect performance. Each supplied variant must be covered by the relevant documentation or an applicable assessment.

Samples, Quotations and Delivery

Can I request a sample?

Yes. State the intended application, preferred finish and required performance so that the sample represents the proposed product as closely as possible.

What information is needed for a quotation?

Provide the project location, application, drawings, quantities, dimensions, finishes and performance targets. Include delivery requirements, installation scope and the documentation required by the project consultant.

Are international shipping and installation available?

The website describes international containerised delivery and installation or supervision services. Availability, responsibilities, delivery terms and site requirements are confirmed in the project quotation.
